Almost There...

This weekend was a fantastic break. We had a five day week (a rarity at Harlaxton—they leave Fridays open so we can travel) and were really tired. Despite this, we trudged to town to find a few people’s costumes for Costume Ball. Later, this ended in pizza and Robin Hood movies.

The next day was Costume Ball. We went back to town to pick up an altered costume and wander around for a while. Saturdays are Grantham Market, which I really enjoy. There’s food and music and clothing and gifts and flowers. However, we had to head back shortly to start getting ready.

A few of us had full body make-up, so we started early. One hair-and-makeup party later, we were ready for the Costume Ball.

I am not, in fact, from Black Swan. Just masquerading :)

The evening started at a reception in the Great Hall, then we ate dinner in the Long Gallery and danced. Basically, a good time was had by all.

My favorite costumes included Henry VIII, the three “Doctor Who”s, Jareth from The Labyrinth, and Mary and Joseph.

Sunday I relaxed. Tried to write a few papers, but by this time in the semester motivation is more difficult. Thankfully my term papers are already done—lots of people were doing some last-minute writing in the library on Sunday. Now I just have a few papers to wrap up, a trip to Wales, and the term will be over! Just 16 more days of school, then Paris!
